Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 12–14 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Healthy Teriyaki Sauce (Gluten-Free):
¼ cup gluten-free tamari or coconut aminos
1½ tbsp pure maple syrup or honey
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger (or ¼ tsp ground)
1 tsp arrowroot powder or cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
Instructions:
Preheat Air Fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Toss chicken pieces with avocado oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 12–14 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F.
While chicken cooks, whisk tamari, maple syrup, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer. Stir in slurry and cook 1–2 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.
Once chicken is cooked, toss it in the warm teriyaki sauce until well coated. Serve over brown rice, cauliflower rice, or steamed broccoli. Top with sesame seeds or scallions if desired.
Optional Add-ins:
Steamed snap peas or edamame
Pineapple chunks
Red bell pepper strips (air fry with chicken for last 5 min)
