Red, White & Basil Bites

Servings: 8–10 (makes about 24 skewers)


Ingredients:

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes (about 24)

  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine – about 24)

  • 24 fresh basil leaves

  • Balsamic glaze (for drizzling)

  • Olive oil

  • Salt & pepper

  • 24 mini skewers or toothpicks


Instructions:

  1. Rinse and dry the tomatoes and basil. Drain and pat dry the mozzarella balls.

  2. Thread 1 tomato, 1 basil leaf (folded if large), and 1 mozzarella ball onto each skewer or toothpick.

  3. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  4. Drizzle with balsamic glaze just before serving.

  5. Arrange on a festive platter. For a patriotic touch, line them up in rows or in a flag shape.
