Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 6 apples, peeled and chopped

  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar

  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, divided

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup old fashioned oats

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, diced into small cubes

  • pinch of kosher salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees and spray a 8x8 baking dish with non-stick cooking pray and set aside.

  2. In a mixing bowl, add chopped apples, granulated sugar, half of the cinnamon (about 3/4 tsp) and the lemon juice. Stir to coat apples, then transfer to prepared baking dish.

  3. In a separate mixing bowl, add brown sugar, oats, flour, other half of cinnamon (about 3/4 tsp), salt, and diced cold butter).

  4. Cut the butter into the oat mixture using a fork or pastry cutter until mixture resembled pea-sized crumbs.

  5. Cover the apples with the oat mixture.

  6. Bake 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.

  7. Serve warm with ice cream on the side and enjoy!
