Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ medium yellow onion, diced
1 lb 90% lean ground beef
2 ½ tablespoons chili powder
1 ½ tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup of water or beef broth
¼ cup tomato sauce
1 (16oz) red kidney beans or black beans, drained and rinsed
Instructions:
Add the olive oil to a large soup pot and place it over medium heat.
Add the onion. Cook for approximately 5 minutes, tiring occasionally.
Add the ground beef. Cook for 6-7 minutes, until the beef is browned, stirring occasionally.
Add the chili powder, paprika, ground cumin, black pepper, and salt. Stir until well combined.
Add the water (or broth), tomato sauce, and water. Stir well.
